The Macaron Storage Guide, brought to you by Biscuiterie de Provence.

Traditional Macarons are one of Biscuiterie de Provence's flagship specialties. They are made according to gourmet recipes, crafted using traditional know-how and the finest ingredients. The result? A range of 7 gluten-free and dairy-free recipes, 5 of which are organic! You'll particularly love our Valrhona chocolate, Menton lemon, Provence IGP honey, fig, almond, and many more macarons!

The macarons we offer are true delights of French cuisine, enjoyed by young and old alike for their soft texture and exquisite taste.

In this article, you'll find the best tips for storing your macarons and ensuring they stay fresh and flavorful for as long as possible ; )

Keys to Successful Macaron Storage

To store your macarons in the best conditions, follow these essential tips. First, place them in an airtight container to protect them from ambient air, which could dry them out and make them harder.

Then, place them in the refrigerator, in the vegetable crisper.

Putting them in an airtight container will protect them from refrigerator odors, preventing their flavors from being altered.

Don't Forget Before Enjoying:

To ensure optimal enjoyment of your macarons after refrigeration, remember to take them out 1 hour before serving. Bringing them back to room temperature will allow our little cakes to regain their ideal texture.

Tips for Preserving Macarons Without Refrigeration

If you don't have a refrigerator, it's recommended to store macarons in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from heat and humidity.

How Long Do Macarons Last?

Our traditional macarons boast a remarkable characteristic: they can be stored for up to 6 months, thanks to their specific packaging!

Our products are packaged in a protective atmosphere. This type of packaging involves modifying the composition of the internal atmosphere of a package to improve its shelf life. Thus, our macarons retain their soft texture and exquisite flavor for several months, to the delight of gourmets.

How to Tell if Your Macarons Are Still Good?

To check if your macarons are still good, nothing could be simpler! First, it's important to know that our Macarons don't have an expiration date but a DDM (Minimum Durability Date), but what does that mean exactly?

Imagine, today, as you're about to enjoy a well-deserved coffee break, your eyes fall upon a box of macarons that was purchased several months ago. You vaguely remember buying them during a gourmet shopping spree, but now you wonder if these delights are still worthy of your discerning palate.

You pick up the box and your gaze falls on the past minimum durability date. You might say to yourself: "Do these macarons still have that je-ne-sais-quoi that makes them irresistible, even after all this time?" Remember that this date is not a verdict on quality, but rather an indication. It simply indicates the period during which the manufacturer guarantees that the product is at its peak in terms of taste and texture. For customers like you, accustomed to excellence, this might seem like a dilemma.

But here's the good news: macarons are rather robust delights. Unlike some products that can quickly lose their appeal once the DDM has passed, macarons, when stored correctly, can retain their exquisite flavor for some time beyond that date. By keeping them in an airtight container at room temperature or even in the refrigerator, you can extend their freshness and savor every bite. If you haven't stored them optimally, our delicacies will simply be drier and will have lost their softness (but not their flavors).

In short, almond macarons are like those gastronomic treasures that reward patient connoisseurs. So, even if the date on the packaging has passed, you can be assured that these small sweet treats will always bring a touch of elegance and pleasure to your personal tasting moments or family gatherings.
